Koma (the iPhone, iPad and Mac app, the app.koma.so web app and this website) is published by Genwise SRL(company no. BE 1003.479.648), Beethovenstraat 38, 1800 Vilvoorde, Belgium, which is responsible for processing your data. This page explains what data we process, why, and how to delete it. In short: your photos stay on your device, there are no ads and no tracking, and you can delete your account from the app at any time.

Your photos

Framing, film looks, adjustments and exports all happen on your device (in the app) or in your browser (on the web app). Your photos are not uploaded to our servers.

The one exception, when you ask for it: AI captions. A reduced version of the framed photo is sent to our server and then to Microsoft Azure OpenAI, which writes the captions. Koma does not keep this image.

Photo library access is only used to pick photos and to save your exports to the “Koma” album.

Account data (optional)

Koma works without an account. If you create one, we keep:

  • your email address and password (stored encrypted by our authentication provider);
  • your photographer profile: first and last name, credit/copyright, website, profile photo;
  • your answers to the welcome questions (what you shoot, your gear, your goals);
  • your plan and your presets (settings, never photos);
  • your AI caption history: the caption text, style, language, subject you entered and some shooting info (place, date, camera, lens, settings);
  • on the web app’s free plan, the date of your exports, to apply the daily limit.

Location

Location is optional and is used to show where a photo was taken in its frame. To turn coordinates into a place name or to search for a place, the app uses Apple’s services and the web app uses OpenStreetMap (Nominatim, Overpass), which then receive the coordinates or the search text.

What we don’t do

  • No ads, and we don’t sell or share your data for marketing.
  • No analytics and no tracking across apps or websites, on this site or in the app.
  • Your preferences (theme, language, settings) stay on your device.

Service providers

  • Supabase: authentication, database and profile photo storage;
  • Vercel: hosting for this website, the web app and its API;
  • Microsoft Azure OpenAI: caption generation, when you ask for it;
  • Apple and OpenStreetMap: place names;
  • Apple: app distribution (App Store).

Legal bases and retention

We process this data to provide the service you ask for (account, presets, captions), with your consent for location and AI captions, and in our legitimate interest for security and plan limits.

We keep it as long as your account exists. When you delete it, your account, presets, profile photo, caption and export history are erased.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, object to the processing of, or delete your data. To delete your account: in the app, Settings → Profile → Delete My Account. For anything else: support@koma.so.

If you think your rights aren’t respected, you can contact the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be) or the authority in your country.

Children

Koma is not intended for children under 15.
